“Grattanuvole. Milano” – edited by Alessandra Coppa, Giuseppe Marinoni, Lucia Tenconi, published by SMOwnPublishing – tells about the stories of 75 buildings erected in Milano from 1923 untill today, including 36 short essays.

The book has been published for the exhibition “Grattanuvole. Un secolo di grattacieli a Milano”, opened to the public in November and December 2014 at the Fondazione Riccardo Catella, in Milano. Two works by Progetto CMR were exhibited in this “journey” between the tallest buildings in the city of Milan: the Garibaldi Towers, as example of impressive architectural restyling from this last years, and Vertical City, a skyscraper-concept designed especially for this event and presented with a scale model created using the new “Lego® Architecture Studio” kit.

“Grattanuvole”, curated by Alessandra Coppa and promoted by Politecnico di Milano, showed the history of the highest building and skyscraper of Milano designed from the beginning of 21st century till today, and has been a chance to ponder about the land development, enhancement of urban living, innovation and sustainability in the design of the urban landscape and public spaces.
