Flexible office
In today’s fast-paced, global marketplace, workers are constantly on the move, but always necessarily connected. The work environment revolves around them and everything becomes minimal, immediately accessible and easily movable, beyond all real and virtual boundaries: the office becomes flexible. This implies the quest for a design that facilitates internal mobility and is easily modifiable to accommodate the different needs that may arise during the working day. The design of Siemens’ new offices in Milan by Massimo Roj’s Progetto CMR is one practical example of the successful application of these principles, thanks to that a former industrial building was transformed into a functional, comfortable and attractive environment, complete with a series of differentiated support areas for a whole range of work activities: on-demand workstations, mobile archives, private meeting rooms, enclosed areas for increased privacy, and a “club area” exclusively reserved for flexible workers.
